Meredith Potter (B.A. Arts Management, WAAPA) is the Producer/General Manager for both Peggy Baker Dance Projects and Volcano Theatre, currently working on two incredibly exciting projects: Peggy Baker’s who we are in the dark, created with composers and musicians Sarah Neufeld and Jeremy Gara from Arcade Fire; and Volcano’s Scott Joplin’s Treemonisha, a reimagining of Joplin’s ragtime-era masterpiece. Both productions are first-round recipients of the National Arts Centre’s National Creation Fund grants. Previously Meredith has worked with companies in both Canada and Australia, including Nova Dance, CORPUS, Dusk Dances, Patch Theatre Company, and the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust. She has sat on boards and advisory committees for the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (3 years as TAPA Board Chair), the Metcalf Foundation (Strategic Initiatives), and currently for Centennial College’s Arts Management graduate certificate program. In 2014, Meredith was awarded the Leonard HcMardy and John Harvey Award for Outstanding Leadership in Arts Administration. Since 2015, Meredith has led the Producers’ Learning Network (PLN), an ongoing professional development platform for Toronto-based independent (non-venued) producers of theatre and dance.
