In addition to preparing hundreds of grant applications, I have also sat on juries and selection/advisory committees for the Canada Council for the Arts, the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA), the Ontario Arts Council, the Metcalf Foundation, and SK Arts. After reviewing the grant program’s published objectives and priorities, I will read your application and provide feedback based on:

• clarity - how well you’ve communicated the paramteres of your project

• tone and urgency - if you have made a compelling case for your project, and addressed why this project is necessary for you NOW

• budget vs project description - are these sections telling the same story - and

• whether your application successfully addresses the program’s objectives.
